About The Event
The fourth edition of the St. Francis De Sales School Model United Nations (SFSMUN 4.0) concluded successfully on 8th – 9th November 2025 at the school campus in Narengi, Guwahati, witnessing the participation of over 200 delegates from various schools and colleges across the region.
Organised under the theme “Resilience for a Changing World: Climate, Crisis, and Cooperation,” the two-day conference, held on November 8 and 9, encouraged students to deliberate on critical global challenges ranging from climate change and trade disputes to political crises and the role of the media in shaping world affairs.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Anshuman Bora, Senior Advocate, Gauhati High Court, as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Rev. Fr. George Thomas, Principal of St. Francis De Sales School, and Mr. Manas Pratim Sharma, Faculty Advisor of SFSMUN 2025.
The Core Secretariat comprised Secretary-General Dharam Aditya Pradhan, Deputy Secretary-General Anuchaya Goswami, Director-General Neel Akash Mahanta, Deputy Director-General Ayushi Nang Ukoi, and Charge D’Affairs Ria Ahmed, with student advisors Shristi Sharma and Shaswat Chouhan.
SFSMUN 2025 featured six committees — the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Historical All India Political Parties Meet (HAIPPM), Nuclear Command Authority – Continuous Crisis Committee (NCA–CCC), and the International Press Corps (IPC).
Among the distinguished Executive Board members were Shubhankar Sharma, Mridushmoy Baruah, and Victoria N. Dualagupu, along with several other experienced chairs and co-chairs who guided delegates through two days of intense debate and negotiation.
Delegates from multiple institutions were recognised for their exemplary performance across committees. Delhi Public School, Guwahati was adjudged the Best School Delegation, while St. Francis De Sales School, Guwahati secured the Runners-Up position.
Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony, Rev. Fr. Melvin Parambukkatil, Vice Principal of St. Francis De Sales School, lauded the participants for their intellectual vigour and teamwork. He remarked that SFSMUN continues to serve as “a platform that shapes young minds into empathetic, informed, and responsible global citizens.”
The event concluded with the presentation of awards and certificates, marking yet another successful edition of SFSMUN and reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing leadership and global awareness among students. The results are -
