About The Event
The 75th Republic Day celebration at SFS Guwahati was a momentous occasion, marked by a series of patriotic and ceremonial events. The day commenced around 8:00 AM with NCC students escorting esteemed guests to the venue. A soul-stirring prayer song, dedicated to the well-being of India, set the tone for the event. The Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh Varghese, was warmly welcomed with a traditional Gamosa, a gesture symbolizing respect and hospitality.
The message from the Principal Rev. Fr. George Thomas, emphasized the significance of the day, underlining the values of unity and patriotism. The flag hoisting ceremony, accompanied by the melodious tunes of the SFS Band, echoed the spirit of the Republic. A parade by NCC and Band students showcased discipline and precision.
Speeches by Reenov Saikia and a patriotic song by Ratnadeep Thakuria, both students of Classes 8 and 9 respectively, resonated with the audience. The energetic patriotic dance by students from Classes 5, 6, and 7 added vibrancy to the celebration.
The Chief Guest delivered an insightful speech, highlighting the essence of democracy and citizenship. Aniket Borgohain and Ankur Borgohain from Class 11 Sci expressed gratitude in the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the collective effort.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem, fostering a sense of pride and unity among the SFS Guwahati community. This Republic Day event was a testament to the school's commitment to instilling patriotic values and a spirit of togetherness among its students. The day ended around 9.00 am with the distribution of sweets.
