About The Event
To deepen students’ understanding of social responsibility and inspire them through real-life examples of impactful work, St. Francis De Sales School, Guwahati organized an Interactive Session with Ms. Hasina Kharbhih, Founder of Impulse NGO Network, on 1st November 2025 at the Mermier Hall, St. Francis De Sales School, Guwahati.
The session aimed to sensitize students to social issues, particularly those related to human trafficking and sustainable livelihood, while encouraging them to become changemakers in their own capacities.
The program was conducted in two sessions- Session I for Classes 10 and 12 (Commerce & Humanities) and Session II for Classes 9 and 11 (Commerce & Humanities).
Session I
The first session commenced at 8:25 a.m. with the initiation of the program, anchored by Lamneihat Singsit of Class 12 Humanities A. This was followed by the felicitation of the Resource Person and a welcome address by the Principal, Rev. Fr. George Thomas, who highlighted the importance of youth engagement in building a socially conscious society.
A short film screening offered a glimpse into the work and impact of Impulse NGO Network, setting the tone for the interactive session that followed. Ms. Kharbhih shared her journey of founding the organization and her relentless efforts in combating human trafficking across the Northeast and beyond. Students from Classes 10 and 12 participated actively, asking insightful questions during the Q&A session, which reflected their keen interest in the subject.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Anshikha Jha of Class 10 C, followed by the School Anthem. The morning wrapped up with a tea break at 10:00 a.m.
Session II
The second session began at 10:15 a.m., anchored by Bidisha Kashyap of Class 9 C. Similar to the first, the session began with a short film screening, after which Ms. Kharbhih engaged with students of Classes 9 and 11 (Commerce & Humanities). She emphasized the importance of empathy, awareness, and civic action, encouraging students to think critically about social justice and human rights issues.
A vibrant Q&A session followed, where students expressed curiosity about community initiatives, youth participation, and the challenges faced in social work. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Aariz Islam Bora of Class 11 Commerce and the rendition of the School Anthem.
The interactive session proved to be an eye-opening and inspiring experience for the students. It provided valuable insights into the ground realities of social issues and motivated young minds to contribute meaningfully to society. The event reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing socially aware and compassionate individuals who are ready to take initiative for a better world.
